position: Founder, Interior Designer

education: Associate of Art in Advertising Art, Bachelor of Science in Interior Design, Master of Science in Arts and Cultural Administration

wonder: What I experience everyday with all five senses absolutely amazes me; there is beauty everywhere you turn if you’re open to it!

travel: I love to go solo…I meet really cool people and end up never being alone. I’ve found myself in backyard dinners in Belgium, staying the weekend with a family in England, and drinking beer at 9:00am with a Czech grandmother. You never know what will happen.

home sweet home: After renting most of my life, I bought a house for my kids and me about two years ago, and I’m slowly making it all us.

fashion: When I lived in Philadelphia in the early 2000’s I produced an annual design industry fashion show. The last year I did the on stage sound check while nursing my newborn in a baby sling I designed. Talk about field testing!

lighting: One of the most overlooked but important design elements. Great lighting makes a good space really great. And don’t get me started on color temperature.

yum: my favorite ice cream flavor is peanut butter cup, and my favorite food is an artichoke with hollandaise.

position: Interior Designer

education: Bachelor of Science in Interior Design from Drexel University

persistence: My junior year of college at Drexel University, I approached CP. regarding an internship during the timeframe of my cooperative education program. Persistence was key when it came to achieving such an amazing opportunity. I interned here for 9 months, returned to college & graduated, then started working here full-time. It was a journey well worth it.

unique: I’m all about creating spaces that are unique, interesting, and exciting! My co-workers laugh, but I love a good print that includes animals.

east coast: I was born in New Jersey, raised in Virginia, went to college in Philadelphia, and now live in Connecticut.

home: When I’m not in the studio, I’m renovating my home with my fiancé. Whether it’s painting my bathroom emerald green, adding board & batten in my dining room, or wallpapering my laundry room with black & white dogs – I’m down for anything and love adding glimpses of us in our home!

canine: I have two rambunctious furry children that we rescued and absolutely adore.

cozy: My favorite thing to do is cozy up on the sofa with our pups, a cup of coffee, and the fire on.

position: Design Manager

client experience: I’m love to work directly with our clients to ensure they get a fabulous experience during the design process. I oversee that everything runs smoothly with the ordering and deliveries, and that the project stays on budget.

lucky: While my official title is Design Manager, I feel so fortunate to be a part of the design process at Design CP. I often participate in schematic design, creating color palettes, and in business development. It’s exciting to be part of the design process and to help bring new clients to our firm.

aspirations: Have you ever said, “that’s what I want to do when I grow up?” Well, I did! I always wanted to be in design but never pursued it because I was raising my two children, managing a dental practice, and running a home with my husband of 34 years. But the day I met Caryn Paradis, I decided to make the change and work for this incredibly talented woman. Some might say I stalked Caryn to get this opportunity, but my persistence paid off!

family: Design is one of my many passions, which is why I love my job so much, but family is most important to me. My favorite day is spent on the water in Branford, CT., on our boat with my family.

summer: My three favorite things are dance music, being on the water, and creating memories with my friends and family.

position: Studio and Marketing Manager

Massachusetts: Born and raised, I ditched the accent and the bustling MA suburbs for CT river valley about 6 years ago. Chester is situated between Boston and NYC, nestled along the CT river, it’s as charming as you imagine it to be.

crafty: Spent the last twelve years at home raising 2 boys and refinishing salvaged furniture as a creative outlet. My love of painting paired with saving furniture from certain death, let me create a truly curated home.

chasing pavement: While home with my boys I went back to school and I found I excelled at marketing- tucked that degree in my pocket and hit the pavement, eager to return to the workforce. I sought out interior designer Caryn Paradis in hopes she needed a highly organized, design-obsessed, eager employee to join her interior design team.

nailed the interview: Timing was perfect- Today I spend my days pitching articles for local and national magazines, creating marketing strategies, and organizing material libraries throughout the studio.

giving: I oversee the client gift program at Design CP. We like to send welcome packets to new clients, a half-way through the project token and a final gift that is specific to the space we designed. I held this position at two other companies so apparently, a unique talent of mine is, gift giving.
